Each new Renga release is a step towards improving and developing our BIM system. And this one in particular is packed with completely new features and capabilities. Renga Software product team is very excited to announce the release of Renga BIM system — the latest version of Renga — and to tell our users about seven wonders of this release.
And the first one is the ability to work with external image files. Which means our users can now add images to drawings. Renga users can use external image files in their projects to link to equipment layouts, layout schematic diagrams, nodes and other project visual elements for further use. This long-awaited functionality is the first step towards the ability to work with links in Renga. Watch the video on RuTube and VK Video.
Inserting links to raster images in drawing using the example of layout schematic diagram
The second wonder is the ability to export models in IFC and 3D formats. To provide a rapid exchange of modeling objects between specialists, our development team implemented the ability to export only visible objects to IFC and 3D formats. Now Renga allows you to export individual sections without having to resort to mapping as was previously the case. Watch the video on RuTube and VK Video.
The third wonder is the ability to control each layer thickness in the multilayer compound structures. The new version of Renga allows you to set thickness for all layers of compound structures. This feature represents a new and “safe” approach to select the composition of compound structures at any design stage, reducing the chances for errors and miscalculations in projects.
Assigning composition and thickness to layers of layered material
The fourth wonder is a new way of automatic routing of utility networks. MEP engineers will appreciate the new way of automatic routing of utility networks, which simplifies the process of connecting objects located in the center of rooms and, therefore, not requiring snapping to enclosing structures. Watch the video on RuTube and VK Video.
The fifth wonder is new options for hole placement. Renga development team continues to improve the Hole tool functionality. We've added new Hole Depth parameter, providing the ability to select placement option of the hole depth. Watch the video on RuTube and VK Video.
Creating parametric hole for light fixtures
The sixth wonder is tool tips that pop up when editing objects. To simplify the modeling process, the commands "Extend or shorten/Extend or shorten to corner" now have tool tips that allow to select the part of the object that needs to be cut off, extended or connected. Watch the video on RuTube and VK Video.
And the seventh wonder is the ability to create and edit object styles from the API. We continue improving the API functionality: we've implemented the ability to add style templates and create and edit object styles. This is a huge step towards developing new external applications for Renga and expanding integrations with other systems.
This was a quick overview of some of the new and enhanced features available in this version. Check out our Release notes for more information.
