The use of information modeling technology is often associated with large projects: residential areas, social, commercial and industrial facilities. However, today BIM can be successfully used even by retail businesses.
Drogerie Retail company, better known as Ulybka Radugi (verbatim translation – Rainbow Smile), is a federal chain of stores for personal and home care, the largest in the North-West and the Volga region and the second largest in Russia in this segment. Ulybka Radugi Company is one of the first drogerie chains in Russia. What does it mean? Drogerie is a compact self-service store near your home, offering a wide range of beauty and personal care products, as well as products that help keep your home clean and cozy. To this date, more than 1,600 stores have been opened under the Ulybka Radugi brand, located in 270 cities in Russia, and the company employs more than 12,000 people.
Until 2022, the company designers used Microsoft Visio to complete shelves zoning tasks. Separately they created tables with lists of products on the shelves, but this approach was extremely labor-intensive for the company with more than 1,000 stores across the country. For this reason, the company management decided to implement software that allows to automate routine processes in a short time, speeding up workflows of the shelve zoning team.
The ideal solution covering all the tasks set, turned out to be the domestically developed Renga BIM system for architectural and construction design. Tech services quickly implemented Renga in the zoning department, designers received software training and began to practice it on real projects.
More details on how retail can benefit from BIM software are provided in the article at the link.
