Renga Software and ASCON Participate in SPIEF-2023

The XXVI St. Petersburg International Economic Forum was held from June 14th to June 17th. This is one of the largest business events in the world, bringing together leaders of states, government representatives, heads of large corporations, experts and specialists in various fields on one platform. Renga Software and ASCON took part in the forum.

ASCON company introduced the forum guests to an end-to-end PLM suit for designing and managing the life cycle of complex engineering products. The development of a digital product model, virtual testing, a single platform for pre-production and cooperation chains – all this is already available in Russian-developed software that is used by thousands of industrial enterprises. ASCON organized a real production process at the booth: visitors could process parts on a training machine with numerical program control according to a program developed in a CAD / CAM software.

Renga Software, a Russian BIM system developer, was presented at the Innovation Territory platform. This platform is the flagship project of the Roscongress Foundation in the field of high technologies, science and venture investments. Here Renga Software demonstrated to visitors its BIM software product for buildings and structures design and also showcased real time collaboration in the Renga BIM system. Maxim Nechiporenko, Deputy General Director of Renga Software, told the St. Petersburg TV channel about this.

In addition to the exhibition, over 150 events were organized at the SPIEF site over four days: discussions, business meetings, and thematic sessions. One of them was a discussion organized by the Kommersant newspaper at the Urban Hub: “Digitalization of the construction industry. Economic aspects”.

Evgeny Shuvalov, General Director of Renga Software, took part in the discussing digitalization issues of the construction industry, which today is one of the main directions of the development strategy for the construction industry, housing and communal services and is being implemented by the state. Session participants agreed that the introduction of digital solutions will help increase the construction productivity and ensure the transparency of object data.

In his speech, Yevgeny Shuvalov cited some indicators based on data from customer projects that speak in favor of the digitalization. For example, as a result of a detailed study of the model and optimization of the initial concept of one real project, due to the effective placement of technological equipment, the reduction in the total building area can be up to 17% with the same factory productivity and safety requirements. It saved capital construction costs up to 15%! Another big advantage for customers is that when using BIM technology, the design speed increases significantly. And savings in financial costs during construction and installation works can be up to 15-20% of the total estimated construction cost. “Those using information modeling technologies in their work today note the possibility and importance of eliminating errors at the design stage! The correct approach to the organization of joint work on projects leads to a reduction in the time for coordination when designing adjacent construction disciplines, the elimination of contradictions and a decrease in the number of critical design errors. Otherwise, in total, all inconsistencies can lead to a delay in the construction process for more than 6 months,” Evgeny Shuvalov noted in his speech.

The Samolet Group (Andrey Ivanenko, managing partner) also became a participant in the discussion. The largest developer in Russia has confirmed the thesis that the use of BIM is effective and necessary. According to the company, the use of BIM makes it possible to reduce the number of design errors by 4 times, as well as reduce construction costs and increase labor productivity.

Special attention at SPIEF was paid to the promotion of Russian-made IT products. The Innovation Space platform held a session on the topic of promoting IT business on the Internet. The participants, including Renga Software, shared the results and experience of implementing the Russian Information Technology Development Foundation marketing program.

Last year, Renga Software became the winner of the Russian Information Technology Development Foundation competitive selection with a project to implement the possibility of real-time collaboration. The practical implementation of this functionality in Renga allows you to reach a whole new level of building and structure design automation, and it is also unique for a CAD product. State support in the development of domestic solutions is not limited only to investments in the sale of products, but also helps in their promotion to the market.

Participating in the session, Evgeny Shuvalov noted the great contribution and involvement of Russian Information Technology Development Foundation in helping to

promote domestic software in general and the Renga BIM system in particular, and the opportunity to receive compensation for advertising and promotion costs. As an expansion of promotion channels, it was proposed to consider the possibility of attracting a larger number of specialized media, since will allow IT companies to more accurately meet the needs of the target audience.

As a piece of advice on promoting software to the user market, Alexey Slukin (strategist at Art. Lebedev Studio) suggested focusing on the main advantages of the product and its uniqueness, focusing on strengths and reaching out to a specialized audience. The session participants noted that in Russia today there are enough support measures for IT companies to be able to present their product both on the Russian market and internationally.
