Better Performance and Improved MEP Design in Latest Renga Release

Better Performance and Improved MEP Design in Latest Renga Release

“As usual, the deadline is yesterday!”, surely almost every designer has heard this phrase. We value our users' time, that's why the end of summer Renga BIM system release will delight our users with new features related to workflow automation, enhanced system performance and improved API.

The latest Renga release comes with the ability to create new styles of piping, ventilation and electrical equipment within a category when editing objects

A few releases ago, our users may have noticed a missing option to modify already created equipment style through the Parameters menu by selecting Other command. The decision to block this command was temporary and due to technical necessity. In the meantime we've significantly improved the mechanism for editing the constructed route, and now the ability to replace equipment using this command has been restored. However, replacing and creating a new equipment style is only possible within the category you use.

It should be noted that this command can be used as an alternative to switching to Style editor when this needs to be done quickly, without being distracted from project workflows. A quick way to change equipment parameters or create a new style of the same category can be very handy when you need to try on equipment to a connection point in a confined space, where, for example, the equipment dimensions are crucial.

Ability to automatically place crosses on routes of pipeline and air duct systems

The new release also comes with improvements of the automatic routes construction. New part style called “Cross” in the Duct system and Pipe system parameters allows you to mark and automatically place different types of crosses when building and rebuilding the routes

Increased performance

One of the keys to the comfortable design workflows is Renga performance. Renga Software team works to ensure that each release provides our users with optimized and efficient workflows, regardless of the size of their projects. This time our development team has done significant work to increase the speed of specification calculations in projects with a large number of assemblies.

Additionally, in some cases, users will notice increased productivity in projects with a large number of rebars.

To compare productivity growth, we took a project containing 149 assembly styles, with the majority of them consisting of multiple rebars. Opening schedules in project like this in previous Renga versions took more than 3 hours. Our development team significantly improved the performance, so opening the bill of materials in the latest release takes only 6 minutes.

Improved API

For API improvement Renga development team has added an undo stack, a collection of Renga project changesets that can be undone.

You are welcome to download our full trial version of Renga right now and experience all tools and functionality that will lead you to improved projects.
